Closeup of the comet. See the anti-tail extending downward from the head? This comet was unusual for having a very visible anti-tail. The anti-tail comes from the tail extending into the distance from where the comet came. A comet's tail looks 2 dimensional to us in the sky, but it's actually spread out 3 dimensionally like a veil into the distance, or like the water spray from a spray nozzle moved in an arc.
